Roku "HDCP Unauthorized" purple screen

This means your Roku can't confirm that your TV or receiver supports HDCP, the copy-protection standard used over HDMI. It's usually caused by a cable or connection problem.

  1. Unplug the HDMI cable from both your Roku and your TV.
  2. Turn off your TV and Roku and unplug them from power.
  3. Reconnect the HDMI cable firmly, plug everything back in and turn it on.
  4. Try playing the video again.

Still seeing the message? Try a different HDMI input or a shorter cable, connect the Roku directly to the TV without a receiver or switch, or change Settings > Display type on your Roku. For more help, visit Roku Support.
